This item is also a bit on the rarer side and I’ve actually seen her other playsuit around more often than this one. I really don’t know why some pieces from the same brand are rarer than others – maybe they have been produced in different numbers, maybe people hang on to one more than the other, I honestly can’t say. But even this one pops up on eBay or Depop occasionally and usually sells quite cheap for a cosplay item (especially if the seller isn’t aware of it). I got mine from another cosplayer for £20 and I wouldn’t recommend spending much more on it because of the limited screen time this item got in the end, but if you manage to get them from a cosplay muggle, you can probably get away with even less.
Just like her other playsuit, I really like wearing this on hot days around my home, but I do think it’s a little too short to take it outside without wearing tights. Taller Claras will have this problem especially. The fabric is light and not too fragile. It fits true to size to a little big (I’d say it fits slightly bigger than her other playsuit) which is nice for me because my hips don’t always fit in size S trousers. Here, I don’t have any problem. It’s nice and loose, just like it should be and like it looks on Clara. If you stick to your regular size, you will most likely be fine.
The playsuit is made of 100% rayon and has a zip at the back. The straps can be adjusted in length, so there is still some room if you do find a size slightly bigger on you. And the best part: the playsuit has pockets!
To be honest, this is one of the items I primarily bought to complete my collection and even though I do like to wear it on hot days, it’s not exactly one of my favourites (you can’t love all the Clara items equally, can you?). I’ve always preferred the pattern of the other one, but I realize that it’s a matter of taste and that some Claras disagree with me, but personally, I’m not really too fond of the pattern and the strange cut in the middle of it. Still, it makes for a nice summer outfit and an addition to your Clara collection and once temperatures rise, I’ll likely wear it often.
Edit: 30th of June 2018: While looking at the various outfits Clara wears in The Caretaker, I noticed something brand new. During the opening scene in the desert, Clara is also seen wearing this playsuit under a shirt/jacket.
On my dress form, it is displayed with a basic, black Zara t-shirt.
