First of all, there are two versions of the exact same jumper: one with full-length sleeves (the one Clara wears) and one with ¾ sleeves. I own the one with the shorter sleeves, but since that is the only difference, I’ll still review it on here.
J.Crew is a rather expensive and not really common brand (at least not in Germany), so it might take you a while to find this particular jumper. I’ve seen them on eBay and Depop a few times, but I’d still say they’re more on the rarer side of Clara items. I got mine with the ¾ sleeves from Zalando for the original retail price of roughly £95. The colour of this jumper is called “heather smoke”.
Luckily for you, Clara wears a leather jacket over the jumper, so it’s not actually that visible throughout the episodes. You could basically get away with any grey jumper. Or if you want to have the original shape, J.Crew made the same jumper in a different shade of grey called “heather dove”.
The jumper is made from 100% merino wool and it says “dry clean only” on the care label. I hand-wash mine very carefully and dry it lying flat and if you do that carefully with specific wool detergent, nothing will happen to your jumper, but please, don’t put it in the washing machine or wash with regular detergent! It’ll put holes in merino wool.
As for the size, I would suggest going with what you normally wear because it runs quite true to size. Downsizing might also be an option because it’s stretchy. I’m normally a size XS or S in jumpers and because they still had all sizes when I ordered mine, I ordered both and tried them on and decided to keep the XS because it looked better over the dress. Because Jenna’s dress has been altered by the costume department, you might find that a bigger size looks a bit weird when worn on top of the dress.
As for the jumper itself, it is really extremely soft and feels great on the skin. It’s not particularly warm, but I’ve worn this outfit to a convention in October and for that it’s perfect.
Whether you buy the SA jumper or decide to go for a cheaper alternative (which is absolutely understandable in this case because of price and rarity), this outfit is definitely one of Clara’s more gorgeous ones and easily recognisable.
