I think this Clara outfit might be one of the most sought-after ones and I can absolutely and fully understand that. The Pinafore was my first and it will forever have a special place in my heart. However, getting the jumper wasn’t quite as easy as getting the Pinafore.
Sadly, this Topshop jumper is one of the rarer ones and in my 2 years on Depop, I have only seen it two or three times in the Clara tag – and one of those was the one I bought. I’m sure that if you search eBay, Depop and Vinted for a few months, you’ll find it, but it’s not exactly an easy-to-get item. I bought mine for £40 from another cosplayer because it was the only one I had ever seen and I was quite desperate, but if you manage to find it and it’s sold by a cosplay muggle, it’ll definitely be cheaper.
The jumper runs small, so I would suggest going up at least one size – maybe even two of you have a bigger bust. The jumper is cropped and I assume you’ll want it to cover your breasts.
Because it is cropped, I don’t wear it much outside of cosplay except under pinafores, but if cropped shirts are your thing, you’ll probably love this jumper. The colour looks great (at least in my opinion – mustard suits me) and it goes so well with the navy Pinafore. Apart from that, it’s quite easy to handle and can be machine washed. It is made from 82% viscose and 18% wool.
As I’ve already mentioned, this item is more on the rarer side, so I’ve seen a lot of cosplayers that use great alts for this jumper. Topshop and H&M both sold suitable alts (I owned the H&M one before I got the SA jumper) and because most of the jumper is covered by the Pinafore anyway, it doesn’t really matter so much if it’s SA or not as long as it has a funnel neck, long sleeves and the colour is vaguely right. I’m sure that if you look online, you’ll be able to find a suitable alt to go with your Pinafore.
